You guys the day has come, it’s REVEAL DAY! I’ve wanted to do one of these One Room Challenges for a while now but always talked myself out of it. Well, I’m officially hooked! I have enjoyed the process so much and can’t wait to do it again. My wheels are already turning with which room to tackle next. You can catch up on what’s been happening the past 5 weeks here, WEEK 1 | WEEK 2 | WEEK 3 | WEEK 4 | WEEK 5. OK, enough chit chat let’s get to those photos…emiright?! First, let me remind you of what we started with.
I was going for bright and fresh and ended up with boring and dingy. Don’t get me wrong I love me some white walls, but it just wasn’t working in here. I wanted our room to feel cozy, romantic and timeless. Here was my Mood Board that launched the entire room into becoming a reality.
Step one to this makeover was finding the perfect moody green for the walls. The original plan was to just do an accent wall but as soon as we got to painting I knew the entire room had to go dark. We ended up going with Thunderous by Sherwin Williams.
Our free Craigslist dressers had served us well, but it was definitely time for an upgrade. I found these dressers and love that fit the timeless look I was going for.
Let me just say this, it’s been so nice having a door to close when in the bathroom. You can see how we built this easy DIY slider door here.
I also decided to revamp some old wall lamps that were collecting dust in our basement. I love how they contrast against the green walls. Such an easy and inexpensive DIY project!
I love playing around with different textures when designing a room. This masculine faux leather bench balanced out the luxe velvet and cozy cashmere perfectly.
Can we all take a minute to appreciate this gorgeous rug!? When I rolled it out for the first time I couldn’t believe my eyes. I adore the subtle pattern and the perfect neutral color palette.
So there you have it folks, completing a One Room Challenge is officially checked off my wishlist. I hope you’ve enjoyed following along with this process. All your encouraging comments have kept me going on the days I wanted to throw in the towel. I’d love to answer any questions you might have about the space. I will have a compete list of sources for you below.
Be sure to head over to the ORC blog page to check out my fellow guest participants completed rooms.
