Happy holidays friends! I know how busy this time of year can be, and getting the house ready for guest can just about send us over the edge. So I'm hoping this post will help alleviate some of that stress. I get asked all the time about how to create a tablescape for the holidays, and my best advice is, keep it simple. :) I've teamed up with Lanie over at Rooted KC to show you how to create a beautiful table that doesn't have to break the bank. When I decorate a table I usually follow these three easy steps.

I absolutely love it when two styles join together and make a beautiful design baby! Modern Farmhouse style is becoming increasingly popular thanks to Miss JoJo (Joanna Gaines, if you've been living under a rock, is the star of the HGTV show Fixer Upper). She's the queen bee at blending these two styles seamlessly.

Well now that the leaves are officially turning colors and starting to fall I think it's time to post pictures of our fall home. :) I don't usually go to crazy with fall decor because I go ALL OUT for Christmas. But this year something got into me, I could not stop decorating! It doesn't help that Homegoods and Target had the cutest stuff this year! Seriously guys, I need a support group for my Target addiction.

Well hello there! Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks, we've been busting our butts trying to get this basement/office remodel done. There is definite progress being made, we now have a new wall up, almost done painting, and the granite guy came today to measure for our bar countertops! (insert excited face emoji) The new wall is now concealing our new office/guest room. We wanted a space that we could both work out of that would be both masculine and feminine at the same time. So I came up with "Industrial Chic", sounds like a compromise to me. :) Truth be told, I like masculine design so I was pretty happy with this plan. Plus it gave me an opportunity to use Navy which I've been really wanting to use somewhere.

You know that one piece of furniture that you've always wanted but just couldn't find for the right price??? Well, for me that was an entryway bench. I loooovvvee the functionality, and how much fun they are to style for different seasons. So when I stumbled upon this sweet little church pew I knew I couldn't go home without it. The color however was not exactly my favorite, so I did a little tutorial for you on how to paint a piece of furniture using chalk paint while still making it appear old and rustic. I like when paint has layers and character. Almost like it's been painted several times over many years and the older colors are peeking through. This style is not for everyone but I absolutely love it!

Happy Labor Day friends, I hope you are all enjoying some cooler weather like we are here in Kansas City. This weekend has been just perfect...we got to spend time with some friends, go to the zoo with the kiddos, and finish up some projects around casa de Hanson. I recently did a guest bedroom makeover for the sweetest couple and wanted to share it with you all. They actually wanted it to be a surprise which I absolutely loved! A bit nerve-racking, but so much fun! We sat down beforehand and discussed their style, likes and dislikes, and of course the budget. They wanted their guest to feel welcomed and cozy but for the room to also have a feminine touch. It's such a romantic little getaway you guys and it totally makes me want to redo our space now. Ha! Hubby already put the brakes on that one!
